I still use it internally at work to talk to routers and other standalone
devices as well as some internal systems but always over trusted local
communications paths.
I also find it useful to issue one-off commands to HTTP and SMTP servers
for testing. Outside of these cases, it's ssh for all other uses (apart
from reverse telnet for capturing output from loggers).
