Ah, the infamous "We'll help you to move to HP-UX" memo.
Let's have a look at the HP-UX Roadmap:
<https://ssl.www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA3-9071ENW>
" 11i v3 now supports Intel® Itanium ® 9500 . HP-UX 11iv3 will be
supported at a minimum through 31-Dec-2022
** Previous Version Support with Sustaining Engineering (PVS w SE) will
be offered for HP-UX 11i v1 and 11i v2 for the period 1st Jan 2014 to
31st Dec 2015.
Yes, we've all seen the "Forward-looking statements" blurb before, but
this is the first time I have come across that occupying a full one
third of the actual content of a presentation.
Someone somewhere is obviously very proud of those statements...
I have personally come to the conclusion that HP wants out of the OS
business and I don't envy anyone who is dependent on HP-UX to run their
business in the long term.
