Load'm into the old gray DEC StorageWorks Building Block (SBB) bricks.  
The gray plastic ones, used for the BA356 and its ilk.   You've 
probably got a few of those SBBs around with dead disks, or dinky 
disks.  Swap the guts, load'm into the shelf, initialize them 
<http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/193> (add /ERASE if you want a 
full-surface test), and transfer over the old contents with BACKUP 
/IMAGE /NOINITIALIZE
