I suppose you mean "detect" the system disk?

Does the system detect other disks? If yes, I am afraid that there is not much you can do except again carefully arrange your SCSI cables.

If OpenVMS does not detect your disk, it is simply because it does not "see" it, in other words, there must be either a cabling fault or the disk itself is defect.
