That's typical of the old tools.   There's also DSRPLUS, which I 
stuffed onto Freeware V6

Given you'll probably also have gnv around, LSEDIT and EDT can both 
successfully edit the aftermath of the obvious command:

bash$ tr -d "\r" <cr.hlp >nocr.hlp

Of course EDT, LSEDIT, TPU, vi, emacs and other tools can all also be 
used.  As can a brute-force DCL loop.  Or TECO as has been shown in 
earlier replies.
