FWIW, We have had an OpenVMS support contract with HP ever since HP bought (er, merged with) Compaq. Back in those days, our primary programming language was "HP-BASIC for OpenVMS Alpha" although we also owned, and used, both HP-C and HP-C++ compilers. Back in October 2013, we decided to add support for both HP-C and HP-C++ since a lot of new code is written in those languages. It was no big deal to add them to our existing contract (who would turn down money?). We just had to prove we were the legal owners of these products. (fortunately we are mental about storing purchase orders)
