You are right about date of killing VMS around end of VMS engineering.

But I think it could be nuanced :

- there has been some clever guys in India, and would have this group 
got some budget, they could become a fine group,

- I heard there is no realy need for "a port to Poulson", it already 
works ; it was possible to have some reduce set of i4 hardware (for san, 
for example) certified with VMS and HP would sell i4 for VMS 10 or 15 
years ; on the contrary today HP must buy noiselessness for big 
companies, and even the i2s becomes difficult to sell.
