   Yes. Early versions of VMS for Alpha did not support it, but all
   current versions do. Your Alpha will need two system disks: one
   to hold VMS for the Alpha, and one to hold VMS for the VAX.

   Yes, I have ported SIMH to VMS on my Alpha and booted VAX/VMS on
   that copy of SIMH. Mostly it was the following kind of changes:

   "#ifdef UNIX" becomes "#if defined(UNIX) || defined(__VMS)"

   (and all the variants on the above). The C RTL seemed to take care
   of almost everything else.

   It was years ago, and not the current version of SIMH. I did the
   same for porting SIMH to Mac, but I've read that later versions of
   SIMH did not port so easily to Mac. I understand the current version
   does.

   I didn't keep either. It's much more fun to simply boot my real VAX
   into my cluster, than to simulate it elsewhere on my cluster, or in
   another room on my Mac. I do carry SIMH around on a Lenevo laptop,
   but I don't run it much.
