Ok, this is just me, and you can tell me I'm full of s**t, seems 
everyone else is doing so lately ...

I don't like MOVE.  Never have, never will.  It's mainly because of what 
just happened to you.  You let the system decide to delete the file from 
the source.

I will COPY data, and when I'm happy with the operation, then and only 
then I might delete the source.

Aborting operations can sometimes find some "edge" cases where things 
happen that you don't intend.

I also perform full backups every night.  I may be paranoid, but that 
doesn't mean that bad things can't happen ....
