I recall this. Many releases after VMS 4.0, when few people still
used MASSBUS, DEC added support for dual write access to MASSBUS
disks in a LAN based VMScluster.
We used dual-ported MASSBUS disks to share data between to
DECSYSTEM-20, but under TOPS-20 it was one system at a time.
Even then we had to not put too many files in a directory. Even
though they were running the same version of TOPS-20, or 2060 could
handle bigger directory files than our 2050.
