[Info-vax] smartarray 5300 question

I put a HP smartarray 5300 card in an AlphaServer 800 that runs VMS
8.4 (no patches applied).
The device shows up under VMS as PKC0: and MSA$UTIL recognizes the
controller: the commands MSA> set controller pkc0: and MSA> show
controller produce output.
The controller is attached to just one disk on port 1: a 2.4 GB SE
Seagate drive with SCSI id set to 0.
However MSA> sho disk shows no disks at all.
The platform is unsupported, I'm aware of that. But am I missing
something here, like a command that instructs the controller to scan
for attached devices?
