PS
the following setup produced a positive result. Using the intyernal
diskcage of the AS800 and its
cable along with one disk in the cage worked. In the sense that run
bios pya0 kept running,
detected one drive and allowed me ty create dya0
Unfortunately the drives in the cage are usually attached to a
mylex960 controller and they are
the system disk. So no boot device left to check whther dya0 (or dya1)
was present under VMS.
It proves that either the SCSI converter is dead, or the other cable
is dead or both.
It may still work...
