Good to hear you found the culprit.  As much as SCSI can be a pain,
it is also quite sobering that it can be 'diagnosed' in quite a
straightforward manner.

Good luck finding a cable.  (Marktplaats.nl, that sounds close to
home.)  If you can't find anything, I may have something for you.
I have a whole pile of SCSI cables and I won't be needing so many
soon.
