They all have problems. PCSI. Like various tools dealing with
tracking this sort of data, probably should have a database underneath
and preferably with transactions. No installation verification.
Limited recovery. VMSINSTAL. Can't deinstall stuff that doesn't
include its own deinstall, and the BACKUP savesets are often mangled in
transit. VMSUPDATE. That most of you have probably never heard or
used it should tell you something. There are other issues with each of
these, too. None of these have network capabilities. Unfortunately,
these are what is available. This barring a product-specific and
completely-custom installer, and that approach too has its own and
large issues.
