On an Alpha DS10, this reports:
$ WRITE SYS$OUTPUT F$getdvi("EWA0","ADAPTER_IDENT")
DE504-BA (quad Fast Ethernet)
..and on an Integrity rx2600 it reports:
$ WRITE SYS$OUTPUT F$getdvi("EWA0","ADAPTER_IDENT")
BCM5701 LOM (Gigabit Ethernet)
$ WRITE SYS$OUTPUT F$getdvi("EIA0","ADAPTER_IDENT")
Intel 82557 LOM (Fast Ethernet)
