From UCX 2.7 up to V4.7, If UCX actually worked, we considered it a
miracle, thanked the deity, and waited patiently for the next failure.
We we seldom had to wait long.
My memory of those days has faded, for many good reasons.
ISTR that DEC bought the rights to some more or less working code and
released it as V5.0.
