It now seems to have been the simple error that
ALLOCLASS was still set to "0". A boot from another
disk and adjusting ALLOCLASS on the main system disk
solved it.

It is a bit weird that this should make the whole system
non-bootable. Some error message and a continued boot
using the actual booted disk would have been nice...

The system is now up with system and data disk as
shadow sets.

I found that shadowing had been disabled since 2008
sometimes. Do not know why...

A few other things to adjust, Rdb doesn't find it's
storage areas which was created using physical disk
names (of course)...
