I found this information on/inside my DECserver 90M devices (with and
without flash):
Without flash:
- Part number: DSRVH-P
- Printed circuit board lists Cabletron as the manufacturer.
- PCB lists part number 9002526-00.
- PCB has no free place/slot/connector to install a flash card.
With flash:
- Part number: DSRVH-N
- PCB lists Digital as the manufacturer.
- PCB lists part number 50-22282-01.
- PCB has a connector slot with a small build-up PCB on it containing
4 AM28F020 chips (this is 4 times 2 Mbit = 1Mbyte EPROM)
- Supplemental removable chip AM27C010 sits on the main PCB (= 1 Mbit
EPROM = 128Kbyte, I do not know what it serves at).
So the two versions have a different PCB, that is why someone who
looks inside a flashless 90M has the impression that it is not
possible to install a flash on a 90M.
