   Many 4000 series VAXen have DSSI on the motherboard, which could
   offer faster performance than Qbus.  DSSI to SCSI can be a better
   solution than Qbus to SCSI.

   I specifially threw out some Qbus SCSI disks on a VAX 4000 Model 505
   in favor of attaching new SCSI via DSSI in order to solidify an 
   application that was doing hard real-time over the Qbus.  Ran great 
   when there was basically nothing else on the Qbus.
