The notes from last week’s Open Source on OpenVMS conference call with HP OpenVMS Engineering are now available:

Next MONTHLY conference call: 14 October 2013 at 08:00 EDT

Next fortnightly conference call: 17 October 2013 at 23:00 EDT

There have been over a dozen new tickets added to the problem list for review and fixing as a result of the porting efforts for the newest version of COREUTILS. Most of these are being worked around for now by the code being added or wrappers being developed for this port.

We are looking for someone (or a group) to come forward to maintainer the cURL port. This code has been updated to newest or nearly newest version and now needs someone to steward it along. The cURL community is starting to release updated versions on a monthly basis now and it would be nice to be in a position of maintaining the newest version on OpenVMS.

A new version of the CRTL pipe facility will be available shortly for testing by the Community. We will announce this when it becomes available.

There is new working being explored on the pthread library. Work on the newest glib has shown a need for implementing features which are not currently available.

Thanks,

Bill (and the rest of the Open Source Team).
