And an update from reading something (slightly) related in a SAS on VMS
problem I found via Google.
VMS is trying to read hundreds of files/second as an NFS client, just
changed CHANNELCNT from 512 to 2048 and the nature of the problem has
slightly changed.
Now, DNFS1ACP still uses 100%, but the system soft fault rate is almost
0 and the Buffered I/O rate remains around the 300-400 mark.
So, rather than performance grinding to a complete halt, is is just
extremely slow. And again, nothing has changed on OSX or OpenVMS for
months, except the change to CHANNELCNT just now, done via AUTOGEN and
MIN_CHANNELCNT=2048 in MODPARAMS.DAT.
