How is the acoustic/sound output, or heat dissipation
for that matter? Do you have a regular or one of those
rare "Office Friendly"-converted rx2620s? I remember it
was quite something, I had two rx2620s with dual dual-
core ("Montecito") processors, both with 24-Gbytes RAM,
various 10-Gbit NICs, loads of 15K RPM Ultra320 SCSI
storage and more. (Eventually I also tried/ran VMS
through IPF virtualization, via HPVM/IVM.)

The later firmware is mostly for "Montecito" (i.e. 9000-
series) IPF processors, I believe. But, if I'm not
mistaken (depending on what HP has put out and in which
form), but you ought to be able to upgrade via FTP, too.
I remember I performed some upgrades, on rx2600s years
ago, through that way.

So, you also discovered that dirt-cheap seller from
Australia? I got many things, even new, for insanely
low prices (if I think that's the seller who you may
have done business with).

Shipping went faster than I expected, I remember. I
also expected it to take ages.
