Ah ha. There's definitely something wrong here, but I'm not sure how to correct it.
The actual executor node, 1.2, is reporting that the executor node is 1.1 and does not name itself.
Known Node Volatile Summary as of 16-FEB-2014 06:44:03
Executor node = 1.1
State = on
Identification = DECnet-OSI for OpenVMS
Node 1.3 names the executor node as 1.2 followed by its own name...
Known Node Volatile Summary as of 16-FEB-2014 06:44:31
Executor node = 1.2 (SELENE)
State = on
Identification = DECnet-OSI for OpenVMS
On node 1.2, decnet_register shows the following:
Directory Service: Local name file
Node name: LOCAL:.helios
Phase IV synonym: HELIOS
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-02-04:20 (1.2)
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-02-04:21 (1.2)
Node name: LOCAL:.selene
Phase IV synonym: SELENE
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-03-04:20 (1.3)
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-03-04:21 (1.3)
Number of nodes reported on: 2
On node 1.3, decnet_register shows the following:
Directory Service: Local name file
Node name: LOCAL:.helios
Phase IV synonym: HELIOS
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-02-04:20 (1.2)
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-02-04:21 (1.2)
Node name: LOCAL:.selene
Phase IV synonym: SELENE
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-03-04:20 (1.3)
Node address: 49::00-01:AA-00-04-00-03-04:21 (1.3)
Number of nodes reported on: 2
I'm not certain where to change the settings that show known nodes displays
Also, an update. There was some incorrect data in the decnet_register database. I corrected that which allowed me to properly perform set host using the system name to get to selene without using the decnet address. However, a set host from selene to helios appears to work... but drops me back on selene!!!
$ set host helios
