Maybe you have not followed the thread, but this issue is probably
solved by now. The switch was an unmanaged (sheap home) switch that 
probably fall-backed into half-duplex...

A faulty cable giving "possible duplex mismatch"?
I would first look for a duplex mismatch... :-)
