Additional resources include the manuals: http://hp.com/go/openvms/doc
The Shadowing Manual:
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/84FINAL/ba554_90020/ba554_90020.pdf
A key part of the OpenVMS user interface is the manuals. This for
better and for worse.
Usual path for learning and using and managing and programming VMS is
the User's Manual, then the two volumes of the System Manager's Manual
and/or the Programming Concepts Manual, depending on what you're up to.
From there, there are topic-area-specific manuals for a variety of
discussions.
Additionally, the Google newsgroup archives — these newsgroup archives
are not indexed by the main Google search — contain a massive quantity
of materials, and given VMS is over 30 years old and there've been a
decade or two of folks asking for help on shadowing, for instance — or
pretty much any other area of VMS — variously some pretty good answers
can be found in the newsgroup archives.
The other resource for old questions is the old OpenVMS FAQ:
http://www.hoffmanlabs.com/vmsfaq
The FAQ hasn't been updated in a while, but then it's been a while
since there's been a new release of VMS for that matter.
FWIW, free usenet accounts are available at eternal-september.org.
You can sign up there, and then scrounge up a news reader for your
preferred platform, and connect directly. This'll get you out of
Google's somewhat scattershot web UI.
