In fact, the question should be: how much money did I lose because I
stayed loyal to VMS: a lot. Lost big contract because I kept pitching a
VMS based solution.

Wait and see. The current generation of younger CIOs have never heard of
VMS. So it is uphill battle.
I asked about DECNET because if DECNET could be an integral part of IP
stack natively and give VMS functionlity/ease of use not available
elsewheree, this could be an asset. (just as clustering is an asset).
