It is relevant (imho), and not intended to be personal.
I respect Jean-François and we had several pleasant exchanges over the years.
Folks in this discussion group are trying to guide potential VMS development decision and that's great, but there should be money / real business behind it.
All discussions and contributions here are from very well meaning folks.
However, best I can tell many, if not most, of the contributions are from folks who have little to none actual buying, decision or influencing power.

alas, no. My comment was not about Decnet specifically but a hint/reminder to the relative significance of certain discussions here.
Myself I have personally invested thousands in OpenVMS, notably while an independent consultant 2005 - 2011. The company I work with now, has had $1M+ of OpenVMS software and services sales since 2011, and our customers are probably in the $10M+ space for OpenVMS related activities.
