Well _I_ appreciated seeing the low-level details!  Sometimes it seems that ANY Itanium-specific detail
here will lead to a lot of grumbling  -- grumbling that has little to do with VMS in many cases.

I need to get better at ignoring the noise, or just go back to ignoring c.o.v. completely.
