Whatever you do, don't spend any time on DECForms or DECWindows! If you 
need a forms processor then use FMS. ACMS has long since outlived its 
reason detre and the real beauty of VMS lives in this: -

The protected database access, privileged library, ad so on run in the 
context of a single process yet protected at EXEC or KERNEL mode!

Unfortunately, Water Boy and his ilk steer young players away from 
inner-mode programming but this is the unique differentiator  that will 
let VMS thrive in the Web Server / Application Server world.
