FORTRAN is still relatively popular. From the initial posting, this is less of a code creation job (new applications) and more of a maintenance job (program modification). I would think that as long as there are build procedures, simple code modifications can be handled by any competant programmer. Knowing how to porgram in one high leevel language should be enough to allow for simple code updates in another with some research and testing.
