If {whoever started this thread} doesn't already have it, then connect 
the console serial line into the network plumbing via terminal server 
or minicom box or analogous, and preferably behind a suitably-strong 
password or certificate, or configure and connect the management 
processor where that's available.   Console access trumps all, after 
all.
