As it happens I started a new VMS job less than two months ago, and since then 
have received at least one enquiry about "...Do I know anyone to fill a System 
mangler's position..."
Because the VMS community is a close knit one, job offers circulate more by 
word-of-mouth. Your reputation counts for more than your references.
