Because there are things that run on HP-UX that don't run on Linux.

Not that I have seen.  People here used to say government contracts were
going to keep VMS alive forever.  Well, the government uses a lot of AIX.
A lot more than it ever did VMS.  Based on the original premise held here,
you draw the conclusion.
