No single VMS system is known to have run for more than 14 years without rebooting.  No VMS cluster
is known to have stayed up for more than 17 years without a complete shutdown.

If you don't reboot after 17 years, you're on your own.  Let is know how you do.

For the rest of us, there is no reason to reboot unless you're doing something that specifically
requires a reboot, such as testing edits to the startup scripts, updating VMS, or running out of
power.
