Maybe because they want something that is massively more powerful and
reliable and maintainable than the ancient Alpha hardware they are on
now? If they are paying for hardware support on Alpha, an Integrity
replacement purchased today will probably pay for itself in lower
support costs before VMS is available on x86. Especially if power
consumption is taken into account.
