I'll admit to not liking the itanic, and even more not liking dealing
with HP.
Regardless, my job is to support my customers. There is no alternative
to VMS for the customers, and with the process shrinks and massive
amounts of memory, my customers did better using itanics than sticking
with old Alphas.
We did what we needed to do to support the customers. And now there is
a future for VMS, and therefore a future on the existing applications
for the customers.
Anything else was going to be a huge financial hit for the customers,
and possibly business problems that could have put some customers out of
business.
