If you also have a gmail account, then in the T's+C's, it states that you 
agree to let Google scan your emails and sell the types of things you are 
interested in to their "partners". 

Not sure if Amazon is a Google "partner", but if you have a google 
Account, this might explain the targeted AD's popping up for you on 
the Amazon web site.

For those interested in privacy (or lack theof), actually reading the 
Google account acceptance terms makes for a real "interesting" 
read (start to create a dummy account and read the terms).
