   Take the cost of doing that, and spread it out over the number of
   chips to be made, and no I don't think it would be competitive.

   It would have been good for the industry if Alpha had taken off
   and replaced everything else, but it's too late now.

   Maybe Alpha will provide inspiration when it's time to move from 64
   bit to 128.  More likely the top seller will be another expansion
   of the 4004.
