We are very pleased to announce the launch of VSI OpenVMS V8.4-1H1 – the 
latest release of OpenVMS and the first involving HP and VMS Software, 
Inc (VSI). This version of OpenVMS – comprising the Base and 
High-Availability Environment components and several layered products – 
is engineered to support HP Integrity i4 servers, and enables you to 
take advantage of the enormous performance gains and cost benefits, 
while providing a seamless migration of your applications.

The following are the key characteristics of VSI OpenVMS V8.4-1H1:

• Support for HP Integrity i4 servers and HP Integrity i2 servers
• Improved performance on HP integrity i4 servers: Lower memory latency 
and greater memory bandwidth
• Binary compatibility with previous versions of OpenVMS

This release is the result of the collaborative and tireless efforts of 
several teams from multiple functions across HP and VSI. It is testimony 
to our commitment to the extended roadmap of OpenVMS and lays the 
foundation for future releases on evolving hardware technologies.
