I'm not going to get into any discussion for or against the US
involvement in Vietnam, other than to say, maybe we all learned a
lesson, "don't send our children to die in somebody else's problems".
Vietnam ruined many lives of the veterans. You go there, you do
despicable things[1], you have to wonder why, and in the end, it was all
for nothing. That can be tough to take. Many could not take it. Those
who can, well, you got to wonder a bit about us ....
[1] How can you shoot women and children? "Helicopter gunner", You
don't lead them as much.
