Like all PDP-11 systems after it, it's a 16-bit machine, with regards to word
size.

The PDP-7, like the PDP-1, -4, -9, and -15, is a word-addressed architecture
with 18 bits per word. I was not calling the PDP-11 an 18-bit machine.
