So, not supporting RM03s and RP06s on x86 is viable? Yeah, and much
else. I'd think they'd want to start with a blank sheet of paper.
Quite frankly, the old systems, while still around, are not going to see
any new systems of that arch. Doing the same as VAX/VMS, "here it is,
that's all it's ever going to be" seems reasonable to me.
Of course, VSI can be as flexible as they wish to be, and if some code
is easily implemented on older systems, they should be free to do as
they wish. But x86 is the future, at least for now, and keeping the
focus there should be #1.
