I currently work in what was ZK02 (the right-most building in the aerial imagery), now known as "300". I just started working there a few weeks ago, and there are many, small remnants of DEC still there.
Just today, I was in a conference room that had a small sign posted just inside the door, next to the light switch which read "ZK conference courtesies".
There is a memo and a floor plan dated 1993 or 1995 in a glass case outside the lab that is in there now, which shows rooms/areas/vaxen that were named after various scientists and folks in the computer field. (Codd being one of them).
I believe I may sit in an original cube that was there when it was DEC. "78" on second floor. Even more intriguing is that I think the back quadrant of the first floor may have been sealed off since the HP (or even DEC) days. Cubes are still set up, but no chairs, no computers. One of the dry erase boards visible from outside the building has writing on it mentioning token ring networks.
Can any of you add more details about ZK02 or the other buildings in the complex? Was there a cafeteria on the second floor of ZK02? There's a bizarre little roll-door, the type you see in school cafeterias. From what I can see through the small windows into the lab, there must be MASSIVE amounts of power to that lab. I would enjoy finding even more 'artifacts' throughout the place if it would be possible.
Thanks!
- Matt
