Paper ledgers and pencils. And that was what was used until places like
Radio Shack came out with $2000 computers with canned business apps
available.
Next level up was when IBM came out with things like the System 34,
System 36 and eventually AS400.
believe it or not, there was a time when everybody didn't use computers.
And, surprisingly, business did just fine.
