Good point. "Was" came about because I haven't actually had any reason
to use BASIC for about 25 years. But "is" is the correct word.

The BASIC stigma applied even to VAX BASIC. Customers often
ridiculed/complained when one of our products would generate an error
and show BASIC error messages. "You're using BASIC?!?" Even among many
VMS people, VAX BASIC had a bum rap.

Clyde Digital Systems did security and communications software: CONTRL,
AUDIT, KBLock, CALOUT, ProMAIL, etc. The products are still around,
though Clyde Digital Systems is long gone.
