Yes please.  Perhaps part of my problem is that I'm using a PC keyboard through a higher end IOGEAR KVM to the MacBook.  I'm not sure if the KVM is passing it through untouched or is attempting to emulate a Mac keyboard.  I've also installed Karabiner and played around with that with no results.
