The 8086 has come a long way since its days as a barely 16 bit toy
controller.
More importantly, it is now surrounded by high performance and serious
chipsets for memory and peripheral access.
And serious servers are built with more elaborate remote management
capabilities than Alphas ever had.
So don't dismiss the lowly 8086.
