Yes, they had a strange naming system. First there was the 32 bit
i386, and then they made a version with a 16 bit physical data bus,
so SX vs. DX. That is, single vs. double.
But later, the 486DX and 486SX where with, and without math processor,
presumably the defective chips went into the latter category,
and no similar meaning for DX vs. SX.
