Yes, getting a new version out the door is important.

But, knowing who the potential sources of revenue are is most likely the 
  most critical information for VSI.  Perhaps a web site where people 
can enter new information about themselves, and their employers, what 
they are doing with VMS, and such.  Spam everyone at least once a month 
with info and requests for updated information.  Build a substantial 
database of information, that allows data mining, and specifically 
targets those who could use specific new developments.

And the "app store" where things such as the recently discussed WASD web 
server are made available.
