I stand corrected. However I am correct in HP reselling VSI software and
support:
"HP will resell VSI versions of OpenVMS and LPs"
(same with support which can be ordered from VSI or HP).

Where I was wrong is VSI's ability to reach customers who are on
hardware older than Poulson. Initially had heard VSI support/sales would
only be for Poulson/Kittson boxes.

Had the the sentence been written as:
> VSI has obtained the rights to develop and
> sell to Itanium as well as other platforms

Then I woudl have made a very different conclusion. By speficying that
VSI has rights to sell to 2 specific iterations of IA64, it implies that
they do not have the rights to sell to earlier platforms. Whenever
legalise is that specific, it is that specific for a very specific reason.
